Of course we're skeptical about this because we all know ice cream is probably the first thing given up during a diet. At first we laughed at this, and then we decided to check it out to see if this is for real, or just another hoax.

This approach called the Ice Cream Diet is yet another diet that claims you can eat the foods you love while losing the excess weight. You will need to be mindful of the calories you eat each day, and that is no different from other diets.

Most people assume that the only reason the ice cream diet includes ice cream is to kill the otherwise intolerable taste of the diet. However, the fact is that ice cream itself may help you to lose weight because of the calcium it contains. Studies incdicate that calcuim is essential for weight loss. Calcium helps the body to burn fat more efficiently. Calcium rich foods are better for you than just taking calcium supplements. To help this process along, you also need regular exercise, which the Ice Cream Diet also recommends.

The Ice Cream Diet takes advantage of a simple principle of psychology. When we deprive ourselves of something, we naturally want it more. When it comes to diets, if we don't eat anything we like, we will feel deprived. People usually put weight back on after dieting because they want those foods they were deprived of during the diet. The Ice Cream Diet, by allowing us to eat something we like every day, allows us to feel satisfied while still eating a low calorie diet. So in the end, the dieter doesn't have all those difficult emotions, and the tendency to stick with the diet will be much greater.
